Baboloki Tlale
  I am holder of Bachelors Degree (History and English) and Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Botswana. I have been involved in education since 1985 in various capacities from classroom teacher up to school head. I have been involved in teacher unions for most of the time when I was serving as a teacher. I was the President of the Botswana Federation of Secondary School Teachers (BOFESETE) for approximately 15 years. I have been involved in several roles in Government representing teachers in numerous task forces and committees from such fields as Information and Communications Technology, conditions of service of teachers, Botswana Teachers Day, Botswana Public Officers Pension Fund.

I have co-authored school textbook entitled N. Lindhard and B. Tlale Who am I? What can I do a book for students in search of self and career. Longman. 1995. This is a textbook on guidance and counselling. The book helps students to explore their personal development. It is currently a prescribed set book in secondary and primary schools. I retired from the Teaching Service in May 2005 and joined BOCONGO as Executive Secretary.
My main passion is Information and Communications Technology and how it can be harnessed to help address the socio-economic challenges that face modern day Botswana. I read a lot on management and leadership issues. I also love sports, physical fitness and music.
 
 
 
 
 

EXECUTIVE SECRETARY


Barulaganye Jones Mogotsi
  Mr. Barulaganye Jones Mogotsi is the Programmes Manager at Botswana Council of Non-Governmental Organisations (BOCONGO) in charge of BOCONGO programmes. Among the programmes that he is focused on are: The Civil Society NePAD programme as (NePAD Coordinator), Leadership and Governance, Financial Management, Gender and HIV/AIDS

Mr. Mogotsi a Diploma in Secondary Education, Certificate in Education (Environmental Education) and Bachelors Honors Degree from the University of South Africa. He is currently studying for Masters in Education (Environmental Education) from Rhodes University which he will be completing by December 2005.

Mr. Mogotsi is an experienced teacher and has taught for eight years. He has worked in the Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO) for a period of six years. He was previously an Environmental Education Officer-Outreach for Kalahari Conservation Society (KCS) in charge of community conservation projects and public education on environmental conservation matters. He then left KCS and joined Somarelang Tikologo (ST) as an Environmental Officer in charge of resource conservation. He has been working very closely with Government and Parastatal Organisations on conservation matters.

Mr. Mogotsi is currently the SADC National NGO-Network Representative in charge of environmental education and sustainable development issues in the SADC region. He is a member of the Environmental Education Association of Southern Africa (EEASA) and also sits in the EEASA Council. He also sits in the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Botswana National Steering Committee. Mr. Mogotsi sits in the Botswana National Archives Advisory Board. He has been instrumental in pursuing environmental education and sustainable development issues in the country.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 

NePAD PROJECT COORDINATOR


Itumeleng Thato Tsebe
  I possess a Bachelors’ Degree in Mass Communications obtained from Oklahoma City University in Oklahoma City, USA. My job experience started while I was still pursuing my degree. I worked as an Intern at FOX 25 Television Station in Oklahoma for six months. My duties included writing stories for the newscast and covering the local stories with the field reporters and photographers. I also worked for Oklahoma City University Newspaper called ‘The Campus’ as a Staff Writer and Advertising Account Executive. My job was to woe companies and individuals to advertise on the school newspaper so as to sustain it, simultaneously doing weekly assignments of writing campus stories on a deadline for this weekly newspaper.

After completion on my studies I became a Media Attaché at MISA Botswana. I committed 8 months to volunteerism at MISA assisting the Information Officer in disseminating information through writing articles for the MISA Newsletter. In 2003 to date, I joined BOCONGO as the Networking and Information Dissemination Officer. I undertook a very broad and challenging profile which includes design and lay out of the BOCONGO Publications (Newsletters, brochures, reports etc), ensuring that the BOCONGO Website is up to date, sending out Weekly Informational Briefs to the BOCONGO members, partners or any parties interested. I gather information that updates the recipients about the current events/activities undertaken by the membership, issues of national concern etc. My profile also includes recruiting new members to expand the BOCONGO membership and performing general BOCONGO public relations duties such as liaising with the media for BOCONGO activities ie write press release/statements and media invitations. I also represent BOCONGO in committees such as Media Advisory Committee and ICT Advisory Council chaired by the Minister of Communications Science & Technology.

Segametsi Oreeditse Moatlhaping
  Ms. Segametsi Oreeditse S. Moatlhaping was born on the 14 December 1975 in Botswana. She is the Regional Youth Coordinator for the Africa Region Youth Caucus- Commonwealth Youth Programme and deputy Chairperson to the Executive Committee of the Botswana National Youth Council. Ms. Moatlhaping holds a Bachelors Degree in Social Work and is reading (on part-time basis) for Masters Degree in Development Studies from University of Botswana.
